Miller, Marie A. (Marriage - 7 OCT 1914)

Last Wednesday morning, Oct. 7, 1914, at 10 o'clock, Rev. E. Kemena united in marriage Mr. August W. Helmke of Stratford, Wis. to Miss Marie Anna Miller of the town of Unity, Clark County, Wis. The wedding took place at the Ev. German Lutheran Church in the town of Unity in the presence of a large congregation. The bride and groom approached the altar while the strains of the wedding march, played by Miss Louise Lutcher, filled the room, the bride being beautifully dressed in a creation of white satin trimmed with silk oriental lace and carried bridal roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Paulina Domer and Miss Jennie Helmke, the former being dressed in blue silk poplin and the latter in blue messaline, and both wore pink roses. The groom was attended by Messrs. John Helmke and George Miller and all wore black. After the services at the church the bridal party and relatives returned to the Miller residence, where a bountiful wedding dinner had been prepared, the dining room having been beautifully decorated with dahlias and sweet pears. After the dinner the wedding party went to Marshfield, where they spent the afternoon, returning to the Miller home in the evening, where a reception was held. Thursday the young couple left for a ten-day visit to Minneapolis and other cities. Miss Marie Miller is the only daughter of Mrs. Wm. Miller and was born and educated in the village of Unity, and is a young lady held in high esteem by all who know her. The groom is a well known progressive young farmer in the town of Eau Pleine and has a large number of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Helmke will be at home to their friends at their home near Stratford after Oct. 19th.

The Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them happiness and prosperity through married life.
