Dennis P. Stuttgen 1948-2002

Dr. Dennis P. Stuttgen, 54, of Fall Creek, died at home December 17, a victim of cancer.

Dennis was born on March 13, 1948 to Jerome and Rita Stuttgen and grew up on the family dairy farm in Stanley. He was a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School. He received his degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and his. M.S. and DVM degrees from University of Misssouri-Columbia. He was a member of the Delta Gamma Rho fraternity.

Dennis married Jayne Redman on May 26, 1984, in Eau Claire. He was a devoted father to children Olivia, Oscar Jerome, and Simon James Stuttgen, all at home. His imprint will remain forever on their lives.

Dennis worked as a veternarian in Cadott and Loyal before starting his own practice of 19 years, Country View Veterinary Clinic in Fall Creek. He truly loved his work with farm companion animals alike, working until illness overtook him.

Highlights of his veterinary career include the supervision/mentoring of veterinary interns from Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovenia and the USA, as well as his involvement with the Christian Veterinary Mission in Haiti.

Dennis will be remembered for his devotion to family, his honesty, intelligence and wit, his genuine concern for all and his love of learning. He enjoyed his involvement with the Eau Claire International Folk Dancers and his children’s activities.

Dennis is survived by his wife and three children; his parents; his brothers, Kethy (Sandy) Stuttgen of Oakdale, Minn., Brian (Kris) Stuttgen of Stanley, Barry (Robin) Stuttgen of Prior Lake, Minn., Frank (Julie) Stuttgen of Apple Valley, Minn., nieces, nephews and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: and brothers, Duane and Todd.

A memorial service will be held on January 3, 2003, at 6;30 p.m. at Lake Street United Methodist Church.
