Churchill, Oliver (10 JUN 1820 - 10 NOV 1912)

 

Taken suddenly ill after eating upper Nov. 10, 1912, Oliver Churchill, aged 93, died within an hour at the home of his son, Samuel Churchill, 2819 East D St., Tacoma, Wash. He had been in good health for one of such advanced years. The body was removed to Mellinger's and funeral arrangements awaited the return of the son, who was out of the city and returned home that night.

 

Oliver Churchill was born in Vermont, June 10, 1820. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was a member of the G. A. R. in Loyal, Clark County, Wis., where he had lived most of his life as a farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Church from boyhood. He came to Tacoma four years ago from Woodburn, Ore., where he had lived with a daughter one year. His wife died eight years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lydia Trombolee of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Ellen Armes of Woodburn, Ore., and Mrs. May Mack of Loyal, Wis., and three sons, Fred of Bay Point, Cal., Louis of Shelton and Samuel of Tacoma.
