John Bonczyk Jr.

THORP, CLARK CO., WI - John Stanley Bonczyk Jr., 67, of Thorp, died July 7, 2003, at the Victory Medical Center in Stanley, Wisconsin.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bonczyk was born June 13, 1936, in rural Owen, WI to John Sr. and Louise (Burzynski) Bonczyk. He was married to Wilma Skees in Louisville, Ky., in 1960 and they later divorced. John then entered the U.S. Army where he served his country during the Berlin conflict. After his discharge, he enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard, serving for 26 years until his retirement.

Three children survive him, Greg (Claudia) Bonczyk, Corydon, Ind., Michael (Kathy) Bonczyk, Shannon, Ill., and Michelle Bonczyk, Bardstown, Ky.; his mother, Louise Bonczyk, Thorp; one brother, Raymond (Shirley) Bonczyk, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
