Adams, Elizabeth (1839 - 24 Dec 1909)

Died, at her home in this village, Mrs. Elizabeth Adams, on Friday morning, Dec. 24, 1909.

The deceased has been sick for a long time. She was born in Ashton, Under Lyne, England in 1839, married to John Adams in 1861, came to America about 1870 and settled in Dodge Co., Wis. She moved to this county in 1874 and later located on a farm one mile west of here and resided there until 1902, when she moved to his village and resided here until her death. Her retiring nature bid her to hide her best qualities from public gaze, but they were revealed to those who enjoyed her acquaintance.

She leaves one daughter, Ellen of this village, two brothers, Charles and Joseph Britton of Plum City, Pierce Co., and one sister, Mrs. G. W. Pratt of Oakfield to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock and the remains interred beside those of her husband in the M. E. Cemetery, who died Feb. 19, 1895.
