The supposed Bebl murder case has been undergoing investigation before Justice Lee, at this place, during the week, Conrad Kourou, charged with the murder of the said Jacob Bebl, having been arrested at Spencer, last Saturday, by Sheriff Philpott and brought to this place and lodged in jail. The case was first called last Tuesday and has been adjourned from time to time to procure evidence since that date, and as we go to press, Thursday afternoon, the matter still hands, though the probabilities are that the prisoner will be discharged during the day, the evidence produced in the examination, so far, being insufficient to warrant his being held for trail. The principal witnesses examined were his wife and her sister and husband, who have succeeded in making a better case against themselves than against the man arrested on their statements.
