Obituary of August Soefker

August Soefker, son of Mrs. Frederick Soefker, of the West Side, died at his home Sunday, Augl 28, at 5 p.m. from the affects of sugar-diabetes. Two years ago his health began failing him and since that thime he has gradually faded away. Until three days of his death he was up and around the farm.

His was the soul of honor and his friends and friendships were sacred to him.

It is sad at any time to stand beside the bed of the dying and watch life's ebbing tide drifting the loved one slowly, perhaps, but surely into the great ocean of eternity, but when there some whispering from parched lips: "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou are with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me," It bring a balm to the wounded heart.

The funeral took place Wednesday Aug.. 31, in the German Reformed church of the West Side, and was conducted by Rev. Otto Saewert.

The floral tributes offered by his many young friends were very beautiful and numerous.

Deceased was the last of six sons to depart from this world and enter that of a brighter and purer one. His father preceded him six months ago.

To his broken hearted mother and sisters who sit in sorrow where his footsteps shall never again find echo, we extend the most sincere sympathy.
