Melvin DeSota

Melvin George DeSota, age 57, of Cudahy, WI died at his place of work on Wednesday, October 17, 2001 of a massive heart attack.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 21, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at Rycek-Larson Bros. Chapel, Cudahy, WI, with the Rev. Larry Bremer officiating.

Melvin was born March 3, 1944 in Stanley, the son of the late Ivan and Emma (Evenson) DeSota. He attended Stanley Public Schools. He joined the army in 1963, serving three years. After his discharge he located in the Milwaukee area.

On April 18, 1980, he married Sharon England. They moved to Cudahy, WI where he worked as a foundry man. Melvin designed and built a cabin in Coloma, WI where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf and playing cribbage with his family and friends. He also was an avid pool player.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Johnny and two grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers and two sisters: Duane (Marie) of Milwaukee, WI, Betty (Ken) Alger of Thorp, WI, Dennis (Mary Jo) of Blaine, MN, Irene Anderson of Wheeling, IL, Dale (Carol) of Niles, IL, sister-in-law Margaret of Minneapolis, MN, Gary of Savage, MN, Ron (Kandi) of Kansas City, MO; six brother’s-in-law and six sister’s- in-law. Also nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray, granddaughter Jessica, brother-in-law Mike and grandparents.
