Accident

On Friday. of last week, a boy aged thirteen years, named Fritz Westfall, and a resident of this village, while engaged in hauling stone west of this village, met with a very serious accident, and one that is likely to prove fatal, by being thrown under a wagon loaded with stone, by the team which he was driving becoming frightened while he was on the tongue of the wagon, where he had stepped to reach the lines which were lying on the ground, two wheels of the wagon passing over his left leg and the lower part of his body. The load is said to have weighted over forty-five hundred, and the wonder is that he was not instantly killed, yet, strange as it May appear, no bones were broken. Hopes are entertained of his recovery, but chances appear to be very much against him. The case is under the treatment of Dr. Thompson
