Lyons, James W. (29 Apr 1845 - 13 Jul 1907)

Died, at Waupaca on Saturday, July 13, 1907, James Wilbur Lyons, of heart failure at the age of sixty-two years.

He was born in Morris Co., N.J., on April 29, 1845, and came to Wisconsin with his parents when but a boy, and settled in Dodge Co. until he enlisted in the 22nd Wis. Infantry in 1865 and received and honorable discharge. In 1867 he came to the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. and lived in this village and vicinity ever since, until six years ago when he was induced to go to the Soldier's Home at Waupaca and spend the remainder of his days with his comrades.

He was interred in the Soldiers' Home Cemetery by a special request by him.

Mr. Lyons was well and favorably known by a large number in this village and vicinity who deeply regret his sudden death.

He leaves a son Percy of Idaho, two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Francis and Mrs. Iva Simpers of Stevens Point, two brothers, W. W. and W. D. Lyons, and one sister, Mrs. O. Milligan of the town of Loyal, to mourn his loss.
