O. J. Finnegan, who resides near Harry Mead’s, in town twenty-nine, had his foot badly crushed between a saw log and a root, last Saturday. The ankle-bone crushed so badly that it will probably always trouble him.

Mr. J. T. King has some of the best ripe apples we have seen this year. They are of the Tetofaki variety, and are about two and a half inches in diameter. For an eating apple they are as nice as any we have ever tasted. He has a large orchard of this and other hardy varieties.

Mr. James Hewett has commenced the erection of a dwelling on his farm in the suburbs of this place. It will be by far the largest and finest dwelling in town.

Schuuyler Colfax has been to Sparta. The Republicans says, to find some one to swear to donating him $1,000, which the Colbaith suit has just demonstrated that Mr. Colfax got for securing a wagon contract for a firm in South Bend.

The first school district of the town of Lynn, is building an excellent school house. Mr. August Riddle, of that town, has been awarded the contract. The building will be of frame, 20 X 32 with 12 feet ceilings. It is to be put up in first class shape and will be a credit to the district
