NOV 1880 - 18 Feb 1919) Mrs. Casper Haas
died at her home in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis. on
Saturday Feb 15, 1919, of pneumonia, after an illness of about ten
days. Her maiden name was Brigita Geitner and she was born at
Schnaitach, Bavaria, Germany on Nov. 18, 1880. She came to Hayton,
Calumet Co., Wis. May 13, 1882 and on Oct. 29, 1882 she was united
in marriage to Casper Haas, who died May 26, 1894, after their
removal to Thorp in 1887. Her early struggles and indomitable
spirit, upon the death of her husband, and with but a small
clearing on the farm (her home until her death) will be remembered
by all the settlers in her neighborhood. Well May her children
cherish her memory as a precious legacy. The funeral took place on
Tuesday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father Neises
officiating, interment following in the Catholic Cemetery. Deceased
leaves to mourn nine children as follows: Miss Amelia Haas, George
Haas, Mrs. Frank Smitke, Robert Haas, Mrs. Alfred Kass, Joseph
