Grandma Christopherson passed away Tuesday, Jan 16, 1917, here (Eidsvold, Clark County, Wis.) at the home of her son Tom Christopherson. She had been sick for a number of years, but the immediate cause of her death was la grippe. The funeral was held at the U. L. Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Midtlein conducting the services, and interment was made in the Synod Cemetery in Stanley. Mrs. Englief Christopherson was born in Bergen, Norway June 9, 1827, and was ninety-two years old. She was married in Dane Co., Wis., to Knut Christopherson in 1858. They lived in Dane County three years, then moved to Vernon Co., where they lived five years, then moved to Richland Co., where Mr. Christopherson died in 1899. He was a civil war veteran. In 1903 Mrs. Christopherson came with her son Tom to Clark County to their present home at Eidsvold. She had seven children, of which three are dead. She is survived by two sons, Tom and Knut, two daughters, Betsy and Mrs. Ness of Decorah, Iowa, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Christopherson was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her and her death is mourned by a large circle of friends, who sympathize with the bereaved family.
