100 YEARS AGO (Feb 2, 1901)

In Denver, CO, Tony Giovanni, a 2-year old boy was seized and carried off by a grey eagle while playing the yard. (Had to add this because I thought it was interesting)

Eau Claire: John Pearl, age 15, is being sent to reform school for forging the name of his guardian, Prof. Stoll, to an order.

A Stanley business manager was shot and killed by his son-in-law. (Sorry, no name given)

70 YEARS AGO (Jan. 30, 1931)

Mayor Richter, Councilman Roycraft & W.H. Charity were appointed to go to Madison to talk with the highway commission regarding the Omaha viaduct and Chippewa River bridge.

50 YEARS AGO (Feb. 1, 1951)

Clarence Barker Culbertson, age 81, local attorney and civic leader, died unexpectedly in Marshfield.

Abner Krogan filed suit against the city of Stanley for allegedly polluting the Wolf river.

40 YEARS AGO (Feb 2, 1961)

Janet Huls was selected as the DAR award winner of Stanley high school.
