Boynton, Essie (Marriage - 10 Dec 1902)

William Shaffer of Medford, Wis. and Miss Essie Boynton of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), were united in marriage Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1902, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Boynton. Rev. Soule officiating. Chester H. Boynton, brother of the bride, performed the duties of best man. Miss Anna Hoppe of Medford acted as maid of honor and Miss Cora Boynton as bridesmaid. Both were very becomingly attired and wore a bouquet of white carnations. The bride was dressed in a pretty white crepe de Chine, and carried bride's roses. After extending congratulations the company repaired to the dining room where a sumptuous repast was served. Mr. Shaffer is well known at Medford and generally esteemed for his exemplary habits. Miss Boynton has taught several terms of school in Taylor Co. and ever with good success. She has many friends in this vicinity, all of which join in wishing them a bright and happy future. Mr. Shaffer made a very favorable impression on all who met him here. He recently purchased a neat residence at Westboro, where the happy couple will begin housekeeping at once.
