Bollman, Roy (27 JAN 1931 - 29 Jan 2003)

Roy Bollman, 72, town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis., died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, following a long battle with renal failure. A celebration of his life will be held from 2-5 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Greenwood American Legion.

Roy Bollman was born on Jan. 27, 1931, in Chicago, to Roy and Dorothy (nee Lampley) Bollman. He attended Crane Tech High School in Chicago. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was part of Squadron TS-2 stationed in Biloxi, Miss., and Albuquerque, N.M. He served in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. He married Joan I. Price on Feb. 7, 1950. They made their home in Chicago following his military service. His career in Chicago included work as a police officer and owning two Standard Oil stations. They moved to Wisconsin in 1974. He worked for Stanley Truck Sales and Thorp Ford Sales. At the time of his retirement, he worked for Hutt Electric, Abbotsford. Since 1993, he and his family owned and operated a car dealership in Greenwood. His interests included fishing, scuba diving, restoring cars, reading and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; three daughters, Debra (Ray) Tomasiewicz, Jacalyn A. LePlant, and Susan Lynn (Tucker) Wilke; five grandchildren, Joseph Roy Graham, Ryan Roy Tomasiewicz, Lynda (Patrick) Gruling, Steven Tucker and John Gasca; and one great-grandchild, Andrew Lawrence Tucker.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
