Lindow, Marlyn S. (25 APR 1921 - 17 FEB 2003)
Marlyn S. Lindow, 81, Chili, Clark County, Wis., died on Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 28, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili. The Rev. Mary Anne Conklin will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Marlyn S. Lindow was born on April 15, 1921, in Chili, to William G. and Mary (nee Drescher) Lindow. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1939. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in the 77th Infantry Division and saw combat in 1944 in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged and returned home in December 1945. He married Mary Louise Hutchins in 1948. He was a service manager for Sears from 1949-61, and then was a maintenance engineer for UW-Marshfield for 12 years. He worked as an electrician for Wick Building Systems before retiring. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili. His interests included fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three children, Sandra (Mike Levy) Lindow, Eau Claire, Jeff (Marcia Meyer) Lindow, Chili, and Sue Chasteen, Pittsville; seven grandchildren, Scott McDonald, Gus, Ben and Maren Lindow, Miriam Levy, and Sydni and Jon Chasteen; one brother-in-law, Rudy; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Franklin Lindow, in infancy; and one sister, Elvira Horn.
The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
