Emil Franz Obituary (1965)

Emil Franz, 58, Dies Suddenly in Wyoming.

Emil A. Franz died suddenly on November 2 at Sheridan, Wyo. at the age of 58, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franz. Service were held November 8 at 11 a.m. at the Champion Funeral Home with the Sheridan Elk's Lodge officiating. Grave sie rites at 2 p.m. with VFW officiating. Burial was in the Custer National cemetery. Mr. Wm. Douglas sang "Beyond the sunset; and "In the Garden" accompanied by Jack Shield at the organ. Pallbearers were Walter Bales, Mac Powell, Dave Kraft, Jack Flitches, Charles Kraft and Fred Yankee Jr. Mr. Emil Franz was born at Greenwood, Wis. and for many years worked as a rancher and dirt contractor in the Otter, Montana area. He served in the navy in World War II. Survivors include four brothers, Edwin, Oscar, Leondo of Greenwood, Wis., and Theodore of Aloha, Ore. Five sisters Mrs. Harvey (Martha) Schwarze; Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Laube, Mrs. Selma Churkey of Owen, Wis., Mrs. Michael (Meta) Bolf, Mrs. Theodore (Arvilla) Wessel, of Greenwood, Wis. He was proceeded in death by his parents and one infant sister.  Among those from out of town attending the service were Mrs. Olga Reiniking, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Franz, Oscar Franz, Mrs. Mike Bolf, Mrs. Theo. Wessel of Greenwood, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze, Mrs. Henry Laube, Mrs. Selma Churkey, owne, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwarze, New Castle, Wyo.; also friends and relatives of the surrounding area.
