McNamara, Denis J. (1830 - 27 Mar 1917)

Denis James McNamara, son of James McNamara and Margaret Carnegie, was born in County Clare, Ireland in 1830. He came to the United States when but fifteen years of age. In 1869 he was united in marriage to Mary Bridget Theresa O’Donnell, of Milwaukee. Most of his life was spent in Wisconsin, the latter years in Neillsville, Clark County, at which place he died Tuesday March, 27, 1917.

There are left to mourn his loss five children, Mrs. F.A. Oelig of Greenwood, E.F. McNamara of Minneapolis, Mrs. B. H. Perry of Chicago, Mae E. of Neillsville and Ted I. McNamara of Minneapolis. His wife died seven years ago.

Although he had been ailing for over a year past, his death came very suddenly.

Ever since coming to this country he has been a loyal citizen of the United States, always maintaining a lively interest in her affairs. Just a short hour before his death he had asked for his paper and glasses that he might read of present day conditions. He will be greatly missed by his children and his many friends in this community.

The family wishes to thank all who gave them help and sympathy in their bereavement.
