PIENTENPOL AND GANTHER FAMILIES

Mr. Henry Pientenpol, a carpenter by trade, married Rebecca (Roby) Allen on Nov. 17, 1886 at the home of her father, Harmon Allen on the farm now owned by Marvin Naedier. They settled on the farm now owned by his great grandson, William Ganther.

They built a small log house, chicken coop and granary. Later on, a new house and barn were built. They raised four children: Floyd, the only son, took over the farm September 14, 1915, when he married Laura Nitzel. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Nitzel of Lynn. Two children were born to them, Letha and Elaine. A new home was built for the older Pietenpols 200 ft. south of the present farm home and other buildings with Henry doing the carpenter work. Floyd's sisters were Vera, (Mrs. Neil Kidd) died in San Leandro, Calif.; Hattie (married R. Berg, and after his death, Ira Clouse now of Amarillo, Texas) died in 1975, and Beatrice (Mrs. Salzer) of Wausau. Floyd and Laura are deceased.

Letha married Clarence Ganther of New Lisbon, September 14, 1940, and moved on the farm in 1943. Three children were born. Margo Rae, (Mrs. John Burleigh) of Isanti, Minnesota; Lee at home, and William. The barn was modernized in 1950 and in 1968 an addition was built. A new home was built in 1953. William married Linda Franke, daughter of Kenneth Franke of Chili in 1974 and moved on the farm. They have one son. Clarence and Letha
