Stroetz, Darlene A. (2 Dec 1960 - 9 Dec 2002)

Darlene A. Stroetz, 42, Spencer, died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the home of a friend, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Community Funeral Home, Spencer, and on Thursday, Dec. 12, from noon until a 1 p.m. funeral service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Darlene Ann Kleinschmidt was born on Dec. 2, 1960, in Neillsville, to Roy and Lucille (nee Bredemann) Kleinschmidt. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1979. She married Randy Stroetz on June 19, 1987, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. She worked as a dietary aid at the Marshfield Center and also worked at the Spencer IGA. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Her interests included puzzles, word searches, bowling, animals, country music, dancing, garage sales and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Randy, Spencer; one son, Travis Roy Stroetz, Spencer; her father, Roy Kleinschmidt, Marshfield; five sisters, Gloria (Wally) Wegner, Pittsville, Sharon (Marvin) Dye, Pittsville, Marie (Gary) Paschel, Marshfield, Vickie (Mike) Leer of Rudd, Iowa, and Arlene (Paul) Krohn, Pittsville; and three brothers, Larry (Tammy) Kleinschmidt, Marshfield, Randy (Ann) Kleinschmidt, Marshfield, and Mike (Kim) Kleinschmidt, Loyal.

Preceding her in death was her mother.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.

I am Darlene Stroetz's son and I would just like to say that anyone who knew her should really be happy because she was friends with everyone. Everywhere she went she knew somebody. I think she was one of the toughest women I know. Thanks T.R.S.
