Glass, Marcella M. (24 Sep 1914 - 9 Dec 2002)

Marcella M. Glass, 88, Schofield, formerly of Neillsville, died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at her daughter’s home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Woodrow Pace officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Blumenstein, Leland Gregorich, LaVerne Gregorich Jr., Scott Hartung, Andrew Opelt and Tim O’Connor.

Marcella Scharenbrock was born on Sept. 24, 1914, in Greenwood, to John and Julia (nee Adolph) Scharenbrock. She worked on the home farm with her mother, Julia, until she moved to Chicago at the age of 27. She married Bryan R. Glass on Feb. 28, 1942. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Willard area. They also farmed in Granton from 1947-61. They moved to Neillsville in 1961. She worked at Auto Test for 10 years and was also employed at Nelson Muffler. After that, she worked as a health care giver and a child care provider. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. Her interests included cooking, baking, gardening, and taking care of her yard and home. Survivors include one daughter, Gaye (Gerald) Rosekrans, Schofield; two grandsons, Jason (Vicki) Mauritz, Wausau, and Christopher Rosekrans, New York; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Mauritz; and one sister, Alice (Herbert) Kurth, Neillsville.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bryan; two daughters, Donna and Carol; two brothers, John and Andrew; and four sisters, Marie, Anna, Elizabeth and Julia.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
