Perrin, Virgil R. (21 JUN 1908 - 12 Sep 2002)

Virgil R. Perrin, 94, Loyal, Clark County, Wis., died on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in the Loyal City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark and Mary Fabiano, Paul and Julie Kramer, Rich and Ann Wolanik, and Aaron and Tina Fabiano. Honorary pallbearer was Jack Fabiano.

Virgil Rech Perrin was born on June 21, 1908, in Beetown Township, Grant County, to James and Minnie (nee Rech) Perrin. He was raised and educated near Lancaster, and graduated from Lancaster High School as the valedictorian of the Class of 1926. After his education, he farmed with his brother for many years. He married Dorothy Weichman on Nov. 30, 1935, in Forest Lake, Minn. He continued to farm with his brother until retiring in 1972. After retiring from farming, he operated a filling station in Dodgeville for several years. He then moved to a farm near Granton. He moved to Loyal in 1977, and resided there until the time of his death.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He and his wife were past members of the Holstein Breeders Association when they raised registered Holstein and Jersey cows. His interests included reading, daily walks, telling stories and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Loyal; two daughters, Shirley Kramer, Madison, and Janis (Daniel) Fabiano, Stevens Point; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Peg Ackerman, Dubuque, Iowa, Dorothy Okey, Dubuque, Iowa, and Ruth (Woodie) Grisham, Salado, Texas; and one brother, Leland (Vivian) Perrin, Bloomington. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James, in 1993; three brothers, Frank Perrin, Charlie Perrin and Donald Perrin; and one sister, Opal Lewis.

Memorials will be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, and the Ministry Home Hospice Program of Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
