Hardrath, Mr./Mrs. Herman (Golden - March 26, 1963)

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hardrath of route 1, Owen, who were married at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, South Green Grove, March 26, 1913, observed their golden wedding anniversary at a celebration Sunday, June 9.

Open house was held at the Hardrath house from 2 to? P.m. Dinner was served at noon in the church dining room with 50 guests in attendance. The tables were decorated with gold wedding bells and yellow flowers.

Mrs. Hardrath had a yellow carnation corsage and Mr. Hardrath a yellow boutonniere, a gift from their grandchildren.

Only two of the original attendants were present for the celebration. They were Albert Hardrath, Loyal, and Bill Lange, Milwaukee, brothers of both Mr. and Mrs. Hardrath, respectively. The Rev. August Behrendt was the officiant at the 1913 ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Hardrath spent all of their married life farming in the town of Green Grove. They have three sons, Harold of Unity, and Howard and Bud, both of Atlanta, Ga. A daughter, Mrs. Edythe Wiedenhoeft, died in 1958. There are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Those present for the dinner besides the honored couple were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardrath and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hardrath and daughters, all of Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hardrath and family and Gilbert and Anita Wiedenhoeft and family of Dale; the Rev. and Mrs. Jerome Wohlfeil and daughter of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Art Lange, Waterford; Bill Lange, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Callipp and Mrs. and MRs. James Lange and daughters, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hardrath, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Fischer, Mrs. Clara Nelson and Mrs. Mabel Hardrath, all of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hardrath, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lange, Holcombe; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lange, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Meyer, Marengo; and Mrs. Evelyn Wiedenhoeft and Mrs. Ida Molle, Unity.

There also were many relatives and friends who called in the afternoon to offer their congratulation and best wishes.
