Beyerl, Leon Robert (22 Dec. 1921 - 18 June 2005)

HAYWARD -Leon Robert Beyerl, 83, of Hayward, died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at his home.

Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission. Visitation was one hour prior to the services. Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery where military rites were accorded by the Hayward Veterans Council.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1921, in Colby to Ambrose and Eva (Frane) Beyerl. He married Eva Marie Berger on Feb. 22, 1944, and he served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He was an award-winning chef for many years in the resorts of the Lake Geneva area. He was a regional training chef for the Holiday Inn Corporation as well as a corporate chef for the Teledyne Executive Training Center until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Eva of Hayward; nine children, David (Judy) Beyerl, Jefferson, Ore., Mary (Gerry) Chamberlain, Lake Geneva, Kathleen (Gary) Nations, Junction City, Martha Stuckert, Plymouth, Minn., William (Marilyn) Beyerl, Batavia, Ill., Ellen (John) Neubel, Libertyville, Ill., Robert (Lianne) Beyerl, Edina, Minn., Richard (Tammy) Beyerl, Auberry, Calif., and Laura (Richard) Holden, Plover; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and five siblings, Joseph Beyerl, Oxnard, Calif., Bernadine Westmoreland, California, Delores Jacobs and Gerald Beyerl, both of Marshfield, and May Geiger, New London.
