Thomas Herman and Thomas Wichlacz is the same person. He is my gr-gr-grandfather and our original immigrant ancestor to this country. I have tons of documents about this man. He was born Thomas Wichlacz on November 17, 1838 in Huby Lukoskie, Poland. He married Catherine Wieczorek on November 25, 1864. Thomas immigrated around 1868, Catherine in 1869. While living in Fayette, Michigan, Thomas started using the last name of Herman, which was his mother's maiden name. He used the last name of Herman for all civil records, but used Wichlacz for Church records.

Likewise, his wife Catherine Herman is the same person as Catherine Wichlacz. She was born November 25, 1848 in Poland. Her maiden name was Wieczorek. She died July 25, 1918. Thomas and Catherine are buried in B-14-04 and 05.
