Richard Paul Eberhardt was born May 8, 1878, on the homestead of Heinrich and Therese Eberhardt near Plymouth, Wis., the seventh of their large family of children and brought up with them by the God-fearing parents, both natives of Thueringen in Germany, to center his interests in life and the work of the church. He was confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Plymouth in 1892.

In 1907, he entered into wedlock with Martha Callies at Edgar, Wis., with whom he celebrated their silver wedding two years ago. They lived for several years after they marriage at Plymouth and Port Washington since 1911 they have had their home here on the farm in the town of Pine Valley.

From the farmer’s struggle in recent years to make ends meet, Richard Eberhardt was summoned by a sudden stroke on Thursday afternoon, breathing his last early last Friday morning, at the age of 56 years, five months and 5 days. He is survived by his widow and all of their children: Herbert, Renate (Mrs. Hans Kalsow, Globe), Elsie, Gerald, Roland, Alvin. The surviving brother and sisters of the deceased are: William, Racine; Albert, Batavia; Emil, Milwaukee; Gustav, Chicago; Mrs. Emma Winkler, Albuquerque, N. M.; Mrs. Cora Pannier, Granton.

All of his brothers and sisters were present at the funeral except Mrs. Emma Winkler of Albuquerque, N. M. Eberhardt, Richard (8 May 1878 - 12 OCT 1934)

 

Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services for Richard Eberhardt, 54, a resident of the town of Pine Valley, Clark County, who died at the Neillsville Hospital Friday morning from an apoplectic stroke, will be held Sunday afternoon.

 

Services will be conducted at the farm home at 1:30 o'clock, followed by services at the Grace Lutheran Church, Neillsville, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Karl Koehler will officiated, and interment will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mr. Eberhardt was born at Plymouth on May 8, 1878, the son of Henry and Theresa Eberhardt. He is survived by his wife and their six children.
