DEATH WITH .22 AFTER QUARREL WITH HUSBAND

CALLED SUICIDE

Guest of Pair Declare Victim Took Rifle and Killed Self behind Woodshed

While evidence gathered in the death of Mrs. Oscar Schuld, 32 years bullet last Wednesday evening at her home near Spokeville, points to suicide, Hugh G. Haight, district attorney, has delayed holing an inquest pending further investigation of several mysterious phases of the case.

Although four persons who were at the Schuld home stated that Mrs. Schuld shot herself after a quarrel with her husband, there was no indication of powder burns where the shot entered the right side of her chest and took a slightly downward course. It was the belief of some that if she held the rifle herself the muzzle would have been so near her body that powder burns would have been left. However, Mr. Haight as in communication with experts at the University of Wisconsin who stated that the new .22 ammunition might not leave burns under those circumstances.

Mr. Haight and Ernest Snyder, under sheriff, visited the scene of the shooting Tuesday to obtain further evidence. Upon their return Mr. Haight stated the inquest would be held Wednesday.

Mrs. Schuld was buried at Loyal Saturday. She was said to be a sister-in-law of one of the women who burned to death in the Allen Block fire at Loyal several years ago.
