Hasz, Marie Dorothy (31 July 1841 - 15 May 1934)

Mrs. Marie Dorothy Hasz died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her son, Herman Hasz, Lynn. Mrs. Hasz has been bedridden for the past seven years, following a stroke. The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and from the Herman Hasz home and at 2 p.m. from the Lutheran Church in Loganville, the Rev. Arthur Laesch, Granton, conducting the rites at both places. An obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. Marie Dorothy Hasz, 92, died at the home of her son Herman Hasz, Lynn, at 1:15 a.m. May 15. She had been an invalid since suffering a stroke seven years ago. Born in Franzenberg, Hanover, Germany on July 31, 1841. Marie Luehrsen came to this country with her parents in 1856 and settled with them in Dane County, where they lived for a year before moving to Loganville, Wis. She was married to John Nicholas Hasz at Loganville on Nov. 28, 1861. To this union 8 children were born. Four children preceded her in death. Mr. Hasz died in 1912 and since 1921 Mrs. Hasz has been making her home with her son Herman at Lynn. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Emma, three sons, Herman at Lynn; Henry, Mount Prospert, Ill.; and Theodore, Loganville, and 39 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hartig and Mrs. William Hueling, Reedsburg; and Mrs. Anna Steinberg, Prairie Du Chien.

Mrs. Hasz was confirmed in the Luther church in 1856.

Everything was done for Grandma Hasz that loving hands could do by her devoted daughter Emma and daughter-in-law Mrs. Herman Hasz and son Herman. One was always at her beside during those 7 long years of suffering. She bore her tribulation with patience. She was a kind and loving mother and a kind neighbor.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hasz were held from the house of her son Herman at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and at the Lutheran church at Loganville, Wis., at 2 p.m. the same day. The Rev. Arthur Laesch of Granton officiating. Mrs. Gertrude Gilbertson of Granton had charge of the funeral here. Mr. Roderick Rausch took the remains to Loganville, Wis., which was accompanied by Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Laesch and little son, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hasz and children Otto, Edna, and Albert, Miss Emma Hasz, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Nickel. Interment was made at the Lutheran church cemetery at Loganville beside her husband and loved ones gone before. Pall bearers were Arnold, Arthur, Alfred and Otto Hasz, George Sefker and Paul Meyer.

Those from away that attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hasz, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hasz, Mrs. Martin Hasz from Mt. Prospect, Ill., Mrs. Robert Starke from Arcadia, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peters and two children from Luxenburg, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Will Rosenthal from West Allis, Wis., Mrs. A. Heravig from Wonewoc, Wis., and also many relatives and friends from Loganville and Reedsburg.
