Area Resident Dies at Age 68

CHILI - Forrest E. Greene, 68, Chili, died of a heart ailment Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield. He had been in ill health for the past six weeks.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at the Hansen Chapel at Marshfield with Pastor Sheldon D. Seltzer of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be made in the Yolo cemetery at Chili.

Mr. Greene was born Oct. 9, 1898, at McHenry, Ill., and received his education there and at Marengo, Ill., and also attended Wisconsin State University-River Falls. In 1914, he came to the Chili area where he had farmed.

His marriage to Pearl Crego took place Dec. 24, 1921 at Lindsey.

Mr. Greene was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and had served as treasurer of the town of Fremont, and as treasurer of the village of Chili for 29 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors are a son, Robert Greene, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Coonrad, Redwood City, Calif., and two grandsons.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
