Warner, Whitney W. (27 Jul 1848 - Jul 1930)

Whitney W. Warner was born July 27, 1848, on a farm near Jamestown, Long Island, N. Y., the youngest of a family of eight children, all of whom have preceded him in death. At the age of 15 he became a sailor, traveling on the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico for four years, and a similar period on the Great Lakes.

In 1870 he was married to Miss Mary J. Wareham of Sheboygan, Wis., and lived for a short time on a farm in Sheboygan county, after which he purchased a tract of wild land in the town of York. He set about the task of clearing the land and erecting the necessary farm buildings and operated the place until 1911, when he retired and moved to Loyal.

He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of York Center and a regular attendant while there and after moving to Loyal he united in the same church at that place.

Leaving Wisconsin in 1920 he and his wife went to Spokane, Wash., where they made their home with the youngest daughter, Mrs. J. E. Homes.

There they united with the First Church of the Nazarene and was a consistent worker and member until his death. He left to mourn his loss his wife, 4 daughters Mrs. Lillian Bowman, Mrs. Edith Gardner and Mrs. Eva homes residing in Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Hattie Stevens of Spencer, Wis., 3 sons Shirley and Harold of Milwaukee and Edgar of Nekoosa. Also 14 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren.
