Alfred H. Zaeske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto A. Zaeske, of this city, was married at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, to Miss Marjorie Phelps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Phelps of La Grange, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. A. Hall at his summer cottage on Lake Winnebago near Oshkosh. They were attended by Miss Doris Phelps, sister of the bride, and Hawley Kaska of East Troy.

The groom is one of Neillsville’s most popular young men, having graduated with honors from the high school here in 1926. Throughout his high school career Mr. Zaeske was active in all school affairs. IN 1926 he was business manager of the annual and a member of the football team. In 1925 he was a member of the basketball team. Throughout the four years he was a member of the Hi-Y club, serving as president in 1926 and secretary and treasurer in 1925. He was class vice president in 1923 and 1925. Many other activities engaged his attention, all of which he handled in a most capable and efficient manner. Following graduation here Mr. Zaeske attended Eau Claire State Teachers’ College, graduating from there in 1929.

For the past four years Mr. Zaeske has been athletic instructor and teacher of science at the East Troy High School. He has made a splendid record as a teacher of science and his football and basketball teams have been outstanding.

The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Phelps and a graduate of the Whitewater State Teachers’ College. She has been teaching in the East Troy Schools for the past few years. She is a young lady of distinguishing charm and intelligence.

After the ceremony the couple left on a trip to Northern Wisconsin and later will attend a Century of Progress in Chicago.

They will reside in East Troy upon their return and both will continue as instructors for the coming year.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zaeske of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Phelps were present at the wedding.
