Lowe, Anna (23 Dec. 1865 - 8 Sept. 1933)

Mrs. Ole Lowe passed away at her home in Neillsville Friday morning, September 8, after only a few hours illness from heart trouble.

Mrs. Anna Barton Lowe, nee Anna Owens, was born in Canada, Dec. 23, 1865. She came to Clark County at the age of five years, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Owens, and spent the remainder of her life in this county.

She was married to Wm. Barton in 1881 and to them 10 children were born, 5 of whom preceded her in death: 2 in infancy, Gertrude at the age of 18 years, Mayme at the age of 19 years, and Edward at 8 months. Five children, three daughters (Della) Mrs. George McCarthy, of Milwaukee; (Sadie) Mrs. Fred Rossman of Eau Claire; (Patricia) Mrs. Tony Zimmer of Milwaukee; two sons, Jule of Sagola, Mich., and Francis of Neillsville. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mr. Barton passed away April 10, 1914.

On January 19 of this year she was married to Mr. Ole Lowe, also a pioneer resident of Neillsville.

Her early married life was spent on farms, one 5 miles north of Neillsville and one about 4 miles south of Neillsville.

Just previous to the death of Mr. Barton she moved to Neillsville and has resided here ever since.

Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Peter Weber officiating.
