Gladys Marie Houth, 86, of Roseville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born March 20, 1918, in Dorchester, Wis.

Gladys Marie Houth, 86, of Roseville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born March 20, 1918, in Dorchester, Wis.

Mrs. Houth was employed for 25 years as a sales clerk at J.L. Hudson's department store at Eastland Center, Harper Woods. A member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Eastpointe, she was active in her church and was the goodwill ambassador at Roseville Housing Authority, where she resided.

Her family said they were truly blessed by the love she not only showered on them, but on everyone she met. They said she walked every day of her life in the path of the Lord and is now wrapped in the arms of the Lord. She will be missed by her family and her many friends.

She is survived by her children, Joyce (Fred) Smith and Allen (Dolly) Houth; sister, Bernice Schultz; grandchildren, Debbie, Pattie, David (Stephanie), Matthew (Jaime), Jason (Samantha) and Bob (Sheila); and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Aiden and Nolan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert, in 1985; mother, Estella Joost; and brother, Lawrence Tessmer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 23801 Kelly (south of 10 Mile Road), Eastpointe, with the Rev. Mark Hetzner officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today in Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
