Maldonis, Walter Stanley (19 Sept. 1920 - 4 April 2005)

ABBOTSFORD -Walter Stanley Maldonis, 84, Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday April 7, 2005, at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker will officiate. Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Duvall, Kevin Duvall, Todd Duvall, Robin Maldonis, Ryan Maldonis and Dale Butkus.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.

Walter was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Rockford, Ill., to John and Ellen (Vascolsky) Maldonis. Walter and Arlene Frahmann were married on Sept. 21, 1940, in Curtiss. She died on April 30, 1999. They farmed in the town of Hull for more than 40 years. He worked for Johnson Silo Company and was a partner in Abbotsford Cement Builders. They moved to Abbotsford in 1982. Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Walter is survived by his children, Beverly (Lyle) Duvall of Colby, Walter (Kathy) Maldonis of Franklin, Gary (Jerry Ann) Maldonis of Athens and Ron (Lois) Maldonis of Abbotsford; eight grandchildren, Larry Duvall, Kevin Duvall, Todd Duvall, Robin Maldonis, Ryan Maldonis, Mark Maurer, Brandon Maurer and Steve Maurer; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin Duvall, Samantha Maldonis and Grace Maldonis; two brothers, Joseph (June) Maldonis of Beloit and Alex (June) Butkus of Medford; and one sister, Helen (John) Strassburger of Curtiss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene; one daughter, Rhonda; one brother, John; and one sister, Florence Phillips.
