Stanley, Oviedga (29 Jul 1924 - 13 Jul 2002)

HUMBIRD - Oviedga Stanley, 77, of W12490 E. Giloy Road, died Saturday July 13, 2002, at Comfort Home Assisted Living in Black River Falls.

Oviedga Isabell Stanley, daughter of Andrew and Lena (Nelson) Larson was born July 29, 1924. She married Willard H. Stanley on December 29, 1945, in Humbird. The couple lived all their married life in Humbird. With her husband, Oviedga raised and sold strawberries for 20 years and owned and operated Tru-Art Manufacturing out of their home. Willard manufactured plaster-of-paris figurines and Oviedga painted them. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Humbird and of their ladies society. Oviedga was a talented artist and seamstress. Due to her health, Oviedga wasn’t really able to enjoy her great-grandchildren, but had cherished the years she had spent with her grandsons.

She is survived by her son, Randy (Becky) Stanley of Humbird; two grandsons, Jack (Carrie) Stanley and Chad (Randi) Stanley, all of Humbird, two great-grandchildren, Macaid Stanley and Elizabeth Stanley; brother, Marvin Larson of Eau Claire; two sisters, Ella Terrell of Tomah and Violet Kaufman of Fairchild; brother-in-law, Dr. Gaylord Stanley of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sisters-in-law, Violet Schmitz of St. Paul, Minn., and Fern Ness of Altoona, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard on May 29, 2002; brothers, Albert, Nathan, Otis, Ben and Lyle Larson; and sisters, Josephine Buessow, Bella Larson and Annie Watson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at 1 p.m. at United Church of Christ in Humbird, with burial in the town of Mentor Cemetery.

Friends May call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
