VIOLA F "VI" TRUAX (8 NOV 1924 - 19 Mar 2002)

Viola F "Vi" Truax, age 77, formerly of Clark County, died Tuesday morning March 19, 2002, at Grande Prairie Health & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie, WI, following a lengthy illness.

Viola was born November 8, 1924 in Clark County, WI. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Anna (Heintz) Morse.

She attended and graduated from public schools in Clark County. On March 31, 1945 in Marshfield, she married Darrell W. Truax. She has been a resident of Kenosha since 1953.

She was employed at Kenosha Memorial Hospital for seventeen years retiring in 1980. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Kenosha. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, camping and taking care of her family.

Surviving Viola is her husband, Darrell; three sons, Robert (Janet M) Truax of Gurnee, IL, Harold (Janet J) Truax of Pleasant Prairie, and Darrell L Truax of Kenosha; a daughter, Colleen Truax of Pleasant Prairie; a sister, Josephine Strangfeld of Neillsville, WI, nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding Viola in death was a son, Earl, and three daughters, Barbara, Evelyn and Jeanette Truax, all as children; three brothers, Ernest, Paul and Lester Morse; and three sisters, Cecelia West, Mabel Bucholz and Gertrude Banach.

The funeral service for Viola will be conducted at 1 p.m. Fri. March 22, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 5410 Sheridan Rd, Kenosha, WI with Rev. Donna Miller officiating. The committal and entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, at Somers, WI. Visitation will be held at Bruch Funeral Home on Thursday evening, March 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to honor Viola’s life.
