KLIBO, Kristian M. (9 Jan. 1915 - 7 Dec. 2004)

Klibo, Kristian M. Jensen 89, born January 9, 1915 in Withee, Wisconsin to Jorgine and Marius Jensen, died peacefully December 7, 2004 at home in Buellton with his family by his side. Kris moved to Solvang in 1934 and learned his blacksmith trade from his uncle Anders Block. Kris was active in many things over his lifetime: his music, both singing and playing, teaching a boys' band in the '40's, participating in SPEBSQSA (barbershoppers), sailing, scuba diving, flying, and more. Over the years he served on the SYV Hospital Board, Jonata School Board, Buellton Businessmen's Association, Lions' Club, the Men's Forum, Dania and the Flying Club.

He was predeceased by his 4 brothers: Frode Jensen, Theodor (Pete) Jensen, Harald (Slim) Jensen, and Karl Jensen.

He is survived by his wife Olga, and his children, Kristie Ann Kayser (Bill), Karla O'Brien (Ray), and Rolf Klibo (Pamela); also, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Kris at Bethania Lutheran Church, Solvang, on Saturday Dec. 11 at 2pm. Reception following in the Parish Hall. Please no flowers. Donations May be made to Bethania Lutheran Church, Solvang Lutheran Home or organization of your choice.
