Born, to Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Hales, Wednesday, June 20th, a son. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Perry Palmer, Tuesday, June 19th, a daughter. Geo. Campbell made a trip to Nasonville last week. Some of the farmers in this vicinity have commenced haying. Fred Benedict and Will Fulwiler transacted business at Chili Thursday. A whirlwind struck this locality last Wednesday night, leveling fences and trees to the ground, and doing other damage to crops, etc. Mrs. Bertha Counsel and sister Nettie of Pleasant Ridge, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. Fulwiler, Thursday. A. E. Lawrence of Loyal, was the guest of Wm. Rowe and wife a few days last week. Ed Tucker of Sheboygan, visited his brother, A.S., the past week. He is traveling for a firm in Sheboygan. Two of our enterprising young men have been running a lemonade and ice cream stand during the revival. Sadie Graves and Maud Humiston have each finished a successful term of school. The former in the northern part of York and the latter in Fremont. Myrtle Robinson of Shortville, came home with her teacher to spend Sunday. Geo. Rowe killed a pine snake Friday that measured four feet in length and a larger one was killed by Geo. Whalen a few days ago. Report say that Francis Palmer has two more wild cats. John Corzett and Dan Demming have been in this neighborhood with their sawing outfit. I. Fulwiler came near being sun struck last week. Some of our young people have about decided to join the Crusaders. We are sorry we made that great mistake in our communication last week, which however was due to having been misinformed. Three couples from here went on a picnic frolic to Fremont last Friday. Walter Lawrence made a business trip to Loyal last Friday. Mrs. L. Begley of Pittsville, visited relative here the past week. Rumor says that weddings will be quite numerous around here soon. A number of converts were gained during the revival. H. Windover has painted his house, which gives it a very neat appearance. Seth Chapel raised a large frame barn last Saturday. We notice that Teddy O'Brien carries his arm in a sling, but are unable to learn the cause. Joy Page came down from McCord to spend a few days with friends. Wm. Rowe undoubtedly has the nicest piece of corn in this vicinity, it is nearly two feet high. Who can beat it? Tom Kerns and wife of Neillsville spent Sunday wit Al Turner and wife. The Crusaders begin a series of meetings at the Redmond church tonight. Eddie Tucker has accepted a position at Loyal. Charlie Ninas of Chili, was in this place last Sunday. As the Loyal stage was nearing the post office last Monday afternoon one of the horses dropped dead.
