Klessig, Edward (3 MAR 1876 - 19 Jul 1955)

Loyal, Clark County, Wis. - A former farmer of this area, Edward Klessig, died at 7 pm. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was 79 years of age.

Beginning Friday morning the body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. William Baker will have charge of the rites and burial will take place in Beaver Cemetery.

Mr. Klessig was born March 3, 1876, in Sheboygan, and as a young child came to the town of Beaver with his parents. On Oct. 3, 1898 he was married here to Catherine Brecker, who died in June 1953. The couple resided here until three years ago, when they sold their farm and went to Stanley.

Mr. Klessig is survived by his wife, two sons, Leo Klessig, Eau Claire, and Norman Klessig, Milwaukee; five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Cecelia) Johnson, Stanley; Mrs. Walter (Alma) Hentz, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leo (Ann) Mandel, Boyd; Mrs. Ed (Irene) Myhre, Eau Claire; and Mrs. Arnold (Eleanor) Molle, Unity; a sister, Mrs. Ed Kademan, Colby; a brother, Arthur Klessig, Montana; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
