Vanderhoof, Munson (11 Mar 1867 - 15 Jul 1929)

This community was saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Munson Vanderhoof which occurred at his home in this village Monday afternoon July 15th. He attained the age of 62 years, 4 months and 10 days.

Mr. Vanderhoof was born in Boonton, New Jersey on March 11, 1867, a son of Mr. Ward Vanderhoof was one of Loyal's old time residents and will be remembered by many. In 1876 the deceased moved with his parents to Plymouth, Wis., and in 1878 the family came to Clark Co. locating in the Town of Sherman, near Coles Corners, when the country here was nearly all woods. There he lived until six years ago when he moved with his family into the village of Loyal.

On April 14, 1888, Mr. Vanderhoof was united in marriage with Miss Charlotte Miller of Spencer. Seven children blessed their union, Alice, Harold of Sheboygan Falls, Munson Jr., Catherine, who is Mrs. Geo. Miller of Sheboygan Falls, Ward, who resides on the home farm, Louis and David.

Besides his loving wife and children the deceased leaves to mourn three brothers and two sisters, namely: Ed of Fairview, Mont., Clavin of Solon Springs, Wis., Joe of Colby; Dollie, Mrs. Rossman, of Waukesha, and Lizzie, Mrs. Vanderhoof of Lane, Montana. All except his sons Louis and Calvin and his sister Lizzie were able to attend the funeral. Mr. Vanderhoof also leaves 9 grandchildren, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

About eight years ago Mr. Vanderhoof suffered a very severe fall in the barn of his farm, and since then has been in failing health. He was a kind and considerate husband and father, and loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors and many friends.

The funeral services are being held this afternoon in the Vanderhoof home at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. G.C. Wadding officiating. Interment is being made in the Loyal cemetery.

The Tribune extends sympathy to the bereaved.
