Vandeberg, Lois (28 Feb. 1879 - 29 Aug. 1932)

Mrs. Lois Vande Berg was born Feb. 28, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Lawrence in the town of York and passed away Aug. 29, 1932, after ten days’ illness following a stroke of apoplexy. She spent all her life in the town of York. On April 14, 1898 she was married to Abram Vande Berg and settled on a farm near her childhood home.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Abram Vande Berg and four sons: Irvin, Clarence, Lawrence and Merril, all of York. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Wiggins of Missoula, Mont.; and Mrs. Floy Huntley of York; also five brothers -- William of Newburg, Ore.; Earl of Missoula, Mont.; Orin Roy and Horace of York and one half sister, Mrs. Lillie Vande Berg of Neillsville; two half brothers, Bert Lawrence of Neillsville and Merlin of Platteville, Wis., and six grandchildren and a host of friends.

She was a kind, loving wife and mother and a good neighbor. The funeral was held Thursday at the York Center Church, Rev. Longenecker preaching the funeral sermon. Adelegation of Royal Neighbors from Neillsville attended the funeral. The pall bearers were: Ray and George Mortimer, R. A. Voight, Newt Turner, Herb Free and Jason Gault. The flower girls were Velma Turner, Della and Vivian Lawrence, Helen Mortimer, Gertrude Northup and Bernice Vande Berg. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Garret Vande Berg, Mr. and Mrs. John, Ray and Herman Vande Berg, all of Baldwin; Mrs. Fenhouse of Watertown, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Fenhouse and Mr. and Mrs. Luchterhand of Marshfield, Melvin Lawrence of Platteville, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rowe of Fairchild, Mrs. Lottie Page of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. F. Jacobson of Sherwood and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Davis of Riplinger.
