Eichinger, George (19 Mar 1849 - 4 Feb 1926)

Mr. George Eichinger died at his home north of the village Thursday, Feb. 4th, 1926 at 11:30 p.m., of gangrene poisoning, following a long illness since April 1925. He had several operations on his lower limbs, but all of no avail, and his long suffering was terminated by death. The remains were laid at rest Monday morning from St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Paul Pitzenberger officiating.

George Eichinger was born at Dengling, Bavaria, Germany, March 19, 1849 and was 76 years, 10 months and 15 days old at time of death. He, with his wife and three children they had then, Mrs. Joe Bauernfiend, Joe B. and Sister Assela, came to the United States in 1891 and located at Medford, Wis., where the other children were born. They resided at Medford 28 years then they moved to Brazil, where they lived three years, then upon returning came to Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., where they have been about three years now.

Their seven daughters and two sons were all able to get here in ample time to see their father before he died. Their names are Mrs. Helen Bauernfiend, who resides here, Mrs. Theresa Bauernfiend, Thorp, Mrs. Earl Smith, Chicago, Sister Asella, Maximina, Hermella and Gisella, Joseph of Dorchester, and George of Sheboygan.

Mr. Eichinger was a quiet man, tending well to whatever duties called him, and well liked by all who knew him. His place is vacant and the hearts of those left are sad and lonely, but May the thought comfort them that some day they will meet again where there is no parting.
