Truax, Alonzo (27 DEC 1847 - 4 Augl 1928)

Alonzo Truax was born at Camden, New York on Dec. 27, 1847 and died at his home here Saturday morning Aug. 4 after two weeks of illness.

The deceased was married twice, his first wife being Miss Dora Crandon, to this union was born one child Louis, at which time the mother was called home.

Three years later he was united in marriage to Miss Nettie March. To this union seven children were born, two preceding their father in death one dying in infancy, and the other, Pearl, who died at the age of 33.

The deceased and his wife moved to Wisconsin and located at Spencer about fifty three years ago at which place he settled on a farm. They moved to this village seven years ago and have made their home here ever since.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Louis Truax of Mosinee, Wis., Clifford of Loyal, Albert of Lemon, South Dakota; Mrs. Louis Miller of Abbotsford; Carl and Nelson of Spencer and a number of grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. Church of Loyal at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, Rev. G. C. Wadding officiating. Interment took place in the Spencer Cemetery.

Mr. Truax was a loving husband and a kind father and was held in high esteem by his many friends and acquaintances. He will be missed greatly by his family and many others. The Tribune extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Could you clear up something for me. The obituary shows Mr. Truax's first name as Alanzo Truax but his wife's obituary (Nettie) denotes Alonzo and his West Spencer Cemetery record and tombstone also denote his first name as Alonzo.
