Lindow, Arthur F. (28 Augl 1894 - 21 OCT 1982)

Arthur F. Lindow, 86, of the Marshfield Convalescent Center, formerly of 312 Concord Ave., died at 2 a.m. today at the Center, where he had been a resident for the past 1 1/2 years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Frank Hinebaugh officiating. Burial will be in the United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chili, Clark County, Wis.. Pallbearers will be all relatives.

Visitations will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday at the Hansen Funeral Home and then at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until services. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

He was born Aug. 28, 1894 in Chili, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John (Ida Luchow) Lindow and received his education there.

He and Esther Schilling were married Oct. 4, 1916 at Immanuel Evangelical Church at Chili. They farmed near Chili until 1947 when they moved to Marshfield. He was employed at the Coast-to-Coast Store for a short time before moving to Westfield, where he and his wife served as caretakers for the Pine Lake Methodist Camp. He moved back to Marshfield after the death of his wife in 1971 and has lived here since.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Marshfield Senior Citizens, was a former Sunday school teacher and treasurer for the Methodist Church in Chili for many years.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Arlene) Hasz of Granton, Mrs. Ethelyn Draheim of Marshfield, and Mrs. Clifford (Geneva) Elliott of Adams-Friendship; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Lindow of Forest Grove, Ore.; and one sister, Mrs. Leland (Clara) Gerber of Reedsburg.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a son and two brothers.
