Gress, Gertrude (Marriage - 29 June 1932)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Globe Ev-Luth Church at 2 p.m., June 29, when Miss Gertrude Gress, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gress, became the bride of Herman J. Hagedorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagedorn. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Hilmar of Globe. The wedding march was played by Miss Sophia Poppe.

The bride was attended by Miss Nelda Hagedorn, cousin of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Verland Anding, cousin of the bride.

The bride was attired in white satin, with a veil of lace, cap effect, trimmed with bridal wreath and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of yellow tea roses and baby breath.

The bridesmaid wore a dress of blue chiffon and a head band set with rhinestones. She carried a bouquets of white roses and baby breath. The groom and best man wore suits of navy blue.

After the ceremony a very fine wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gress. The dinner was attended by 80 guests. Two tables wee set for the occasion, the bridal table was decorated with blue crepe paper and a large and beautiful wedding cake as center piece.

The home and bridal car were decorated in blue and white crepe paper, with large white bells.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gress of Neillsville. She graduated from the Neillsville high school in 1929 as stenographer and for the past two years has been employed at the Neillsville Milk Products company. She is a young lady of fine and charming personality. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagedorn of the town of Weston. He has spent most of his life on his father’s farm; for the last few years he has been employed as milk hauler. He is a young man of a very fine personality.

The young couple left for a short honeymoon to the Dells of Wisconsin and Madison. After they return they will make their home at Globe.

Relatives from Eau Claire, Altoona, Chili, and Marshfield were guests at the Gress house for the occasion.
