Henrichs, Mildred (Sept. 15, 1911-1943)

(Mrs. Ed Henrichs - Fall of 1943) A heart attack at 11 o'clock Thursday night ended the life of Mrs. Edward W. Henrichs, 31, of 500 E. Fourth St., the former Mildred Barton of Wis. Rapids. Funeral services will be conducted at Zion Evangelical Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. G. W. Nickel officiating, and burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Seehafer and Hansen Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Sunday and will be at the church from then until the rites at 2. In company with her husband and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lehnherr, Mrs. Henrichs was leaving a meeting of the Home Builders Class of Zion Evangelical Sunday School at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Lehnherr, near Bakerville, and the fatal attack occurred just after she entered the Fred Lehnherrs' car. She was taken at once to St. Joseph's Hospital, on the chance that respiration might be restored, but the house physician pronounced her dead. Mrs. Henrichs was the youngest of the 12 children of W. O. Barton and the late Margaret Rose (Cormican) Barton, and was born Sept. 15, 1911, at Biron. She attended the Biron grade schools until after the death of her mother in 1923, when she transferred to Wis. Rapids, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1929. Employed as typist and dictograph operator in Kenosha and Chicago, she returned to Wis. Rapids to enter Wood County Normal School. After graduating in 1931 she taught one year at the golden Glow School in the town of Rock. She was married to Edward W. Henrichs, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Henrichs, N. Peach St., March 20, 1932, by Rev. E. A. Zellmer of Zion Evangelical Church, and had lived here since then except for a short period in 1936, when Mr. Henrichs was employed in Fond du Lac. Survivors also include her two children, Edward William 10, and Janice Rose, 4; her father, who has been spending the summer at Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lottie) Kehring of Detroit, Mrs. Oscar (Pearl) Omholt and Mrs. John (Hattie) Gaulke of Wis. Rapids, and Mrs. J. E. (Beatrice) Bradley of Stratford; and six brothers, Basil, Lloyd, and Clifford of Wis. Rapids, Orville of Milwaukee, Harry of Miami, Fla., and Leslie on the West Coast. Mrs. Henrichs was a member of Zion Evangelical Church of the Home Builders Class, and of the Woman's Missionary Society, and a former leader of the Mission Band, a juvenile organization. She was also active in Wood County 4-H Club work for a number of years, and was a former leader in the West Marshfield and Marshfield Central Clubs. For the past several months she had been associated with Mr. Henrichs in the operation of their shoe repair shop at 327 S. Central Av.
