Anding, Johana Freiderika (12 Dec. 1856 - 14 March 1932)

Mrs. Oscar Anding died at her home in Chili, March 14, at 10 p.m. at the age of 75 years, three months and two days.

Johana Freiderika Anding was born December 12, 1856, in Grohszschocher, near Leipzig, Germany, and was married to Oscar Anding July 24, 1881., in Lindenau. About a week after their marriage they left for the United States and took up their residence at St. Louis where they remained five years. They moved to the town of Lynn where they settled on some wild land, and where, after many hardships and much hard work, they developed a fine farm. They lived on this farm until 1920 when they moved to Chili where they have since lived.

Mrs. Anding was a faithful wife and a loving mother and attended the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her home and its many duties. As a member of the Ladies Aid she was quick to share her part of any work to bed done and was beloved by all who knew her. Mr. and Mrs. Anding celebrated their golden wedding July 24, 1931.

She leaves her aged husband, five sons and two daughters, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchildren. Her children are Frank of Lynn; Richard of Altoona; Elsie, Mrs. Sherman Gress of Neillsville; Chares of Lynn; Otto of Lynn; Helen, Mrs. Adna Harriman of Chili; and Alfred of Marshfield. A son died in infancy and a daughter, Gertrude, died at the age of 2 ½ years.

Funeral services were held at the home by Rev. C. Hoeh at 2 p. m. on Thursday. Five sons and one grandson were pall bearers.

Those from away who attended were Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Anding and family of Altoona and Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt of Levis.
