Winscher, Emma L. (20 Jul 1910)

One of the season's social affairs was the wedding of Miss Emma L. Winscher to Mr. George E. Galster on Wednesday, July 20, 1910. The ceremony took place at noon at the home of the bride's parents one miles south of town, and was an entirely outdoor wedding. The maid of honor was Miss Annette Winscher of Chicago, a sister of the bride, and the best man was Mr. Frank Galster of Beach, N. D., brother of the groom. The bridesmaids were Miss Dora Hanusa, niece of the bride, and Miss Anna Winscher, of Wonewoc, a cousin of the bride. The ushers were John Boullion of Conde, S. D., a nephew of the groom, and Herman Heimlich of Merrimac, a cousin of the bride. The Rev. Otto Neumann of Fairchild, officiated.

The bride wore a gown of white net and lace and wore a wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white bridal roses. The maid of honor was dressed in white wearing a wreath of myrtle, and carried white roses, while the bridesmaids were gowned the same, they also wearing wreathes of myrtle, but carrying pink roses. Miss Lefa Dunlap played the wedding march. The flower girls were the Misses Maria Hanusa and Lottie Galster, nieces of the bride and groom. The bridal party marched from the front door of the home to the bowery, which had been erected for this occasion, where they were married under an arch of ferns and hops, the birth flower of the bride.

The wedding dinner was served at 2:00 o'clock to 200 guests, many of who were from different towns and states. In the afternoon refreshments were served, and an 8:00 o'clock supper was partaken of by the guests. At this time toasts to the newly married couple were given, with P. A. Hemmy acting the part of toastmaster. The evening was spent in dancing, the Blencoe brothers furnishing the music and John Gluth in charge of the floor.

The presents received by the bride are all quite elaborate.

Mr. and Mrs. Galster will begin housekeeping at once on the groom's farm three and a half miles south of Alma Center, delaying their wedding trip until fall.

Other relatives besides those assisting in the ceremonies, who were present, were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Winscher of Chicago, and Misses Clara and Emma Heimlich of Merrimac.
