Filber, Jacob W. (16 NOV 1849 - 10 NOV 1918)

Jacob W. Filber was born Nov. 16, 1849 in Washington Co. Wis., died at his home at Walworth Nov. 10, 1918 at the age og 68 years, 11 mo. and 24 days. He had been ailing for some time, but was confined to his bed only a short time.

Mr. Filber was one of the pioneers of this locality, living for a short time near Loyal on a farm and for a good many years he conducted a butcher shop in this village, where he resided until 1903, when he moved to Walworth. At the latter place he owned and ran The Wayside Inn.

Mr. Filber was a pleasant man to meet, always having a smile and a kind word for everyone, his genial nature making for him many friends.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two daughters, Mrs. George Rusch of Elgin, Ill., and Mrs. Barney Schultz of Wausau, a son having preceded him in death many years ago, four grandchildren, besides other relatives. The body was brought here for burial, the services, which were private, being held at the M. E. church at 10 a.m. Friday morning Nov. 15th. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
